In this article we see that the 117th Congress has over a quarter of women, which is a lot more than what was there in the past 10 years. Even though the number is still low, it is considerably higher than the past Congress. Women comprise for 40% of House Democrats and 32% of Senate Democrats, compared with 14% of House Republicans and 16% of Senate Republicans. The article also sheds light at the history of women representation in Congress. It shows that women have been a part of the Congress since the beginning for over a century.
